Recycling Collections Now Twice A Week

Hundreds of recyclable items have already been saved from landfill as a result of Waterloo Quarter BID’s new Thursday collections.

The first Thursday collection took place on August 26, and saw 111 cardboard bundles and 17 can and plastic bottle sacks picked up by our contractors Paper Round.

The number of collected can and plastic bottle sacks rose to 25 the following week and we hope to keep improving the overall amount of recyclable waste picked up.

The second collections were brought in after our Tuesday service proved so successful it had reached capacity.

Both collections take place between 3pm and 5pm on the allotted days. Businesses signed up to the scheme leave their recyclable paper in purple Waterloo Quarter sacks and their plastics and bottles in green sacks outside their business.

Cardboard bundles can also be left for collection, providing they are secured with Waterloo Quarter tape.

The scheme is free to sign up to, and nearly 200 businesses are already taking advantage of the initiative.

To sign up, request more bags or tape or if you wish to discuss your businesses recycling requirements, call Katie Lindsay on 020 7620 1309.

++ DID you know Waterloo Quarter BID can now help you dispose of your old printer cartridges? When you have a minimum of five cartridges call our contractor Paper Round on 020 7407 9100 and they will arrange to have them collected.
